Jewelry Care

Cleaning:
To clean your jewelry, use a gentle soap and clean using a soft brush. Rinse soap off with warm water and dry with a lint free cloth. Do not use detergent soap.

How to care for a 14k Vermeil or Gold-Filled piece:
It is highly suggested to removed all vermeil and gold-filled pieces before showering, cleaning, swimming, gardening, or sleeping. Products such as cleaners, detergent soaps, lotion, hair product and perfume could damage the vermeil and result in color change. When using personal products such as lotions, perfume, makeup, etc., please allow them to fully dry before putting on your jewelry.

Can I wear my Kyri Jewelry everyday?
Most Kyri jewelry pieces are designed for every day wear. However, we highly recommend removing our jewelry before showering, swimming and exercising. To prolong the life of your jewelry, it is advised to remove your jewelry before certain activities such as gardening, exercising and sleeping. Yearly inspections by a jewelry professional can help identify any problems that may arise as a result of frequent or everyday wear.

14k Vermeil (pronounced ‘ver-may’) is solid .925 sterling silver under a coating of 14k gold. This is a great way to get a durable 14k gold look at a more affordable price. Please see the ‘Jewelry Care’ section for details on how to care for your 14k Vermeil piece.

Any piece offered at Kyri Jewelry is available in solid 14k or 18k, yellow or white gold upon request. Please contact our studio for a current price quote.

What is 14k Vermeil?

My 14k Vermeil piece is turning silver. What do I do?

Your 14k vermeil piece may turn a silver color over a long period of time if it is worn while showering or swimming, if it is exposed to chemicals or lotions, or if it becomes scratched. To ensure a longer life to your vermeil piece, please read above ‘Jewelry Care’. Any additional questions can be directed to kyrijewelry@gmail.com

To have your piece re-coated with 14k gold, please contact our studio. Please note that a small fee may apply.

Made to Order means the piece has not yet been made and therefore, currently not ready to be shipped. Please allow at least two weeks for all Made to Order pieces to ship.

Can I schedule a local pickup and skip on shipping?

Local pick-ups are no longer an option offered to Rochester residents. If Kyri Jewelry will be at a local show happening soon, pieces can be picked-up at our booth, but only if this is scheduled ahead of time. Please check the show schedule under the ‘Upcoming Events’ tab and use the contact form to see if a pick-up option is available.

For custom orders or special requests, please fill out the Contact form under the ‘Contact’ tab or send an email to kyrijewelry@gmail.com directly.
Please note that custom order slots are not always open and not all projects will be accepted due to season or time availability.

Custom order timelines vary depending on the complexity of the piece. All custom orders require a 50% deposit to start working and the final 50% is due before shipping.
